“Easy there friend,” Liam Moses said in amusement. “I would not like to see you being carted out of here a stumbling drunk.”

“I can hold my liquor, and this is fluff.” He said referring to the expensive bubbly.

“Notwithstanding….” Liam plucked a glass from the waiter and steered Gregory to one corner of the room. “You should not let him rile you. I have met your beautiful bride and she seems to be having fun. Amani has taken her into the fold and she along with Leesa and Stacey are having a ball. How is married life?”

Gregory sent him a wry look, realizing what he was bent on doing. “Wonderful.”

“I can well imagine.” Liam eyed him. “She is beautiful and even though it was an arranged marriage, it seems to be working out.”

“You have no idea,” Gregory told him with a laugh, his anger and disgust abating.

“Actually, I do. I am completely and utterly in love with my darling and I can see that you feel the same way about Grace. A bit of advice?”

“I am all ears.”

“Concentrate on your marriage, build a life around that beautiful wife of yours. Do things together, forget about your father and his – whatever the hell he is doing. Grace is your family now and the key to it is to concentrate on each other. Form a bond and let that be your guide. Make her happy and she will do the same for you.”

“You are quite enamored aren’t you?”

“Completely and utterly,” Liam acknowledged with a grin. “And absolutely proud of it.”

“Are we going to talk about tonight?” Grace asked as soon as they entered their bedroom. He had been very quiet on their journey back home and she had allowed him the time to think.

“I don’t want to spoil the mood.” He told her as he stripped off his sports jacket and sat down to take off his boots.

“I don’t think the mood is considered spoiled by us having a conversation Gregory and you are going to stop shielding me from things you consider not appropriate for me. I am a big girl.”

“I don’t know what you mean.” He muttered as he took off his trousers and his sweater. “You don’t need to be burdened with all the things that are wrong with my family.”

She gave him an exasperated look as she took off her earrings and the magnificent diamond necklace he had given her a day ago. She had had a wonderful time with Amani and Stacey and had agreed to meet them for lunch tomorrow. The week of the honeymoon was officially over, and she was going to have to find something to occupy her time. “I am your wife, is that correct?”
